Ouch! My Foot - 5th Week

So far so OK - No boredom, no frustration, no feeling to kill someone.
Definitely not the preferred way but it wasn't that tough to live an indoor life for a month. As my 5th week approached, I got an idea - If I have to only and only rest and do not have to see my doctor for another three weeks, why not go back home to my Parents' and rest there.
Travelling was a little pain but manageable with the help of Special Assistance at Airports and In-Flight. Also, my injury has a bright side to it - No waiting in the queues, be it security check or immigration.
All this while at Heathrow Airport, I had a dedicated British Airways Crew member to help me with the entire process and buying alcohol was part of the process. As we all know....Nobody lands in India without 2L of Duty-free alcohol ;)
I reached home after 8.5 Hrs of flight and 3Hrs of drive and have been eating mom-made food since then and this is what I got to hear "J, you haven't put on at all even though you are out of action for last 4-5 weeks". Wow! Nothing could have made me happier :)
It's the time I thought my UK friends should have some rest and let me kick some asses in Pune. Ouch! I forgot I can't kick. Still here I am....

Ouch! My Foot - 3rd Week

One week of break from work is something I always fancy but 6 weeks is little too much for an outgoing person like me. This is my third week ongoing when I am almost bedridden and can't have lot of movement. It gets little boring sometimes but its okay I can handle that.

I keep the following stuff around me for my entertainment & comfort:-

1. Laptop
2. Iphone
3. Ipad
4. Landline Phone
5. Aux Cable whose other end is connected to my speakers
6. Makeup & Perfumes
7. Painkillers
8. Important Documents
9. Water Bottle
10. Some munching stuff like nutri-bars, hobnob, etc.

All this while my best entertainment has been my iPad which I never used as effectively as now.

Other than all these activities I am glad to have such Amazing friends around. I live in london by myself with a flatmate and few awesome friends who are always available whenever I need them and keep visiting me pretty much everyday and ensure I am adequate with all the stuff I need. They shop for me, they cook for me, they do my dishes, they get me almonds, they care, they love and I love them :)

What I miss the most:-

1. Obviously Walking
2. Long Showers
3. Going to Cineworld and catching up on all box office movies
4. Offline Shopping
5. Visiting my friends for BBQs
6. Dining Out
7. Clubbing
8. Wearing Heels - The tapping noise of heels is so tempting for me these days
9. Makeup & Curling my hair
10. I will be missing a great long weekend during Easter :(

Ouch! My Foot

On 22 February 2012, around 7.00 PM I was on my way back from work. It was a usual evening people rushing to go back home and one of them was me - Carrying my laptop bag on one shoulder, in proper formals with 2" inches heels, listening to Rihanna on my iphone while getting down the staircase. I was only about 10 steps away from the platform when I saw the jubilee line train approaching the platform. The next tube was after 2 mins but who wants to wait? I hurried up to catch that tube distracting myself from the staircase and missed one of the steps resulting in a twisted foot.
It was normal for me to twist my foot as I am little clumsy and have encountered it few times before. I stood there for a while trying to regain my balance and I heard people asking me "Are you alright?" I smiled back at them and said "oh yeah, Thanks". After few mins, I thought lets go but I realized it was painful and I couldn't walk. A lady gave me support and helped boarding the train. I was moving my foot in the train for ten mins and got down at my destination and again thought "I am okay now lets go". By then the pain was settled and I thought I could walk. I put two steps forward and my foot twisted again as it couldn't take any of my weight and this twist was enough painful to shed my tears off. After that day I didn't try to underestimate the pain and be brave again.
Doctors identified metatarsal fractures in my right foot - in all 5 bones. Initially they wanted to go for surgery but decided that it can be treated conservatively with a plaster for about 6 weeks. When I twisted my foot for the second time I actually broke the broken foot again
Here I am on a bedridden journey for 6 weeks now.
